Following the stream of tonight’s #GodIsNotGreat hashtag on Twitter gives a perfect illustration of how to make a great (or evil) trending topic: it elicits a passionate response from people who get its context, and an equally passionate response, for totally different reasons, from people who don’t get its context.
(and I have to think Hitchens would be delighted by the spectacle.)
Twitter is a good distillation of this ever more fractured world we live in.
